JC Allegedly Played “Vital Role” in A$AP Rocky’s Release from Swedish Prison

Critically acclaimed rapper A$AP Rocky made headlines when he faced jail time in Sweden during the summer of 2019. A$AP, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was accused of assault after supposedly injuring a 19-year-old during a brawl in Stockholm on June 30. Mayers faced up to six months of incarceration abroad. As news spread of the rapper’s legal troubles, the internet was consumed in chaos. The hashtag “#FreeA$ap” began to circulate as high-profile celebrities and internet personalities expressed concern and outrage on social media. However, the most important public figure involved in ASAP’s release was none other than the almighty president of Choate Rosemary Hall: Vikram Sharma.

Choate’s esteemed Student Council expressed their indignation towards A$AP’s arrest through their preferred method of communication: BoarCast. Not only did Sharma reassure A$AP’s fans and Choate students alike that he had called the Prime Minister of Sweden, he more importantly stated that he had discussed the matter with his close confidants, JC Chair Kate Spencer and Vice Chair Henry Susser. Still, despite the best efforts of Kim Kardashian, Jada Pinkett Smith, and the all-powerful Dr. Curtis, hope seemed to be all but lost for A$AP. The trial was at a standstill, with A$AP still detained. Finally, after a shift in priorities, the Choate Judicial Committee intervened.

This is not the first interaction between A$AP and the JC. In December of 2016 it was alleged that A$AP attempted to bring down fellow rapper Travis Scott for “academic dishonesty, plagiarism of ‘bars’, plagiarism of ‘flow’, and the failure to SISO while [Travis] was on tour”. However, a JC censure dismissed the issue and A$AP declined to comment. Now, the JC provides a shining beacon of hope for all those who wish A$AP a return to the U.S., asap. Unfortunately, the moment the JC began negotiations on behalf of A$AP’s release, President Sharma began sending Outlook emails that insinuated that the JC was taking all credit for helping to free A$AP. As legal deliberation continued, the Judicial Committee and the Student Council found themselves engaged in a reply-all fueled war to establish themselves as A$AP’s biggest fan. Eventually, Choate Student Council reportedly attempted to bribe the JC Faculty in an attempt to get him to reveal that the Committee only initiated participation in A$AP’s trial because they were jealous of the attention the Sharma administration was receiving. Followers of the interaction decided a draw was appropriate, urging both the Student Council and the Committee to focus on the task at hand. An inside source let it be known that the warden of the prison that A$AP was detained at implored the release of the rapper as soon as he received the news of the Committee’s involvement. Once released, it was confirmed that the presence of the Judicial Committee expressed the gravity of the situation to the Swedish government and the issue was immediately brought to the highest level of diplomatic relations, surpassing its ongoing law enforcement issues. A$AP was freed on August 2 and expressed his immense gratitude towards the Judicial Committee and the Student Council, in that order.
